Local Cuisine

On this exciting day trip, we travel 213 km by 4WD vehicle on an off-beat Atlas circuit of scenic contrasts. We include a drive across the barren ‘Marrakech desert’ of Agafay with a wonderful backdrop of High Atlas peaks, a visit to Lake Takerkhoust and then a scenic drive on a remote mountain road to the Azzaden Valley via Amizmiz.

After a tasty traditional Moroccan lunch at Kasbah Africa - Atlas Nature Retreat, we have time to explore a Berber village on foot, swim, relax and enjoy unrivalled views of the High Atlas Mountains. 

​

Finally, we make our way back to Marrakech across a dramatic route which links the market town of Asni with the Ourika Valley. Views of North Africa’s highest peak, Jebel Toubkal (4,167m) are unsurpassed on a clear day.

0830   Rendezvous with driver. See Agafay Desert & Lake Takerkoust. Pass Amizmiz             to Lake Ouirgane.

1300   Lunch at Kasbah Africa. Walk in Azzaden Valley & visit Berber village. Visit
            Asni & drive to Ourika.

1830   Arrive Marrakech

Small group departures operate on local market days – Tue/Thu/Sat and include a visit to a weekly Berber market. Private departures operate daily and can be tailored to personal interests.
